It was thought that the beauty and pep of the <a href=\"\/breeds\/arabian-horse\">Arabian<\/a> would blend wonderfully with the gentleness and soundness of the large <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theequinest.com\/breeds\/boulonnais\/\">Boulonnais<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The resulting cross was an animal that was more refined than the <a href=\"\/breeds\/boulonnais\">Boulonnais<\/a> but much larger and heavier than the <a href=\"\/breeds\/arabian-horse\">Arabian<\/a>.
