They were initially created as warhorse using refined pureblood <a href=\"\/breeds\/arabian-horse\">Arabian<\/a> and robust <a href=\"\/breeds\/barb\">Barb<\/a> (or Berber) bloodlines.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>The cross drew on the best characteristics of both breeds and created a bold, fearless desert animal that was incredibly versatile. Today this breed is perhaps the most common one in Northern Africa and their popularity has grown into Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the Arabian-Berber is also known to display the t\u00f6lt and pace gaits, making their strides incredibly comfortable to ride.
