Like the warmbloods of other countries, they are required to be of sport horse or warmblood type and meet specific studbook requirements.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Origins<\/h3>\n<p>Like most warmblood breeds, the American Warmblood was developed as an athletic sport horse.  There are two registries who recognize this type breed, the American Warmblood Society and the American Warmblood Registry &#8211; both are recognized by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses.
