Intro<\/h3>\n

The Sokolsky or Sokolski is a powerful coldblood draft breed that has been developed in the northeast of Poland for the last century.
\n<\/p>\n

Origins<\/h3>\n

First bred early in the 20th century, they come from a cross between Norfolk<\/a>, Breton<\/a>, Ardennes<\/a>, Dole<\/a>, Belgian<\/a> and Anglo-Norman animals. The result is a draft that is docile but full of energy. It is also said that environmental conditions, including continental climate and poor soil have also helped to develop this breed.<\/p>\n

In 1964 a centralized studbook was established and all of the different draft types found in the nation were consolidated. From what we can tell, the Sokolsky is a type under the Polish Coldblood<\/a> registry.<\/p>\n

Features<\/h3>\n

Average height 15 – 16 hands
\nSmaller in stature than heavier drafts (possibly from environmental factors)<\/p>\n

Physique<\/h3>\n

Head is large with a straight profile
\nEyes are large and expressive
\nNeck is long and muscular
\nChest is deep
\nShoulder is sloped
\nLegs are sturdy
\nHooves are broad and round<\/p>\n
