In 1981 the <a href=\"https:\/\/americansportpony.com\/\">North American Sport Pony Registry<\/a> was initially founded (as a division of the <a href=\"https:\/\/americanwarmblood.com\/\">American Warmblood Registry<\/a>). However by 1997 the number and quality of the ponies being produced in America was large enough to warrant their own separate registry.<\/p>\n<h3>Small Horses<\/h3>\n<p>These ponies are notable because they do not possess physical pony traits, they look and move more like small horses.
