Not an official breed, but still found under the aegis of the Royal Society of the Horse of Iran, the Seistani or Sistani Horse is a variety of Persian Plateau Horse.

Bred mainly in the Sistan and Balouchistan provinces, their numbers appear to be very low and they are likely endangered. The local environment in this area is a difficult one for raising plateau types, causing their numbers to remain fairly low. While they are known for their hardiness among their type, plateau horses tend to be light and thin-skinned, making them more difficult to adapt to colder climates. <\/p>\n
