Hello Walter, I hope I have found you. My computer crashed and I lost your email address. I know someone who is planning a ride across Iceland and wants to ride Icelandic Horses. Let me know if I have found you.

I acquired an Aegidienberger approx 5years ago from a herd dispersal down in Southern Oregon. The owner and elderly gentleman was breeding Icelandics and Peruvians to help get the Aegidienberger breed established in the US. I am wondering how I would establish that my mare (was 8mths old at the time I aquired her), has the perfect balance of Iclandic 62.5% and Paso 37.5% so that she or her offspring could be potentially registered? I believe it will be her offspring who will have the correct balance to be considered Aegidienberger. Thank you for your assistance!

"The cross is found mainly in Germany where they love the bold look of the Paso but need an animal hardy enough to withstand difficult terrain and cold weather."
In fact, the main reason they crossed the breeds is because they wanted icelandic horses that was larger and less rough. The climate was not the main reason, they breed arabians in Germany without any problems ;)
