Description
Bulb perennial, leaves are dark green, strap shaped and arise from a fleshy stem. Flowers are orange (yellow is rare), trumpet shaped and grow in a cluster at the end of the stem.
Concern Level
Only during drought conditions, unpalatable.
Toxic Parts
All parts of the plant are toxic if eaten in large quantities.
Symptoms
Gastrointestinal upset, diarrhea, excessive salivation, colic, collapse, paralysis
Danger
Contain lycorine alkaloid which can be fatal.
