Description
Annual that grows to 30 inches. Blades and leaf sheaths are covered in fine hairs. Seed is purple, slender, grows in drooping spikelets.
Concern Level
High in animals grazing anywhere near the awns.

The awns are coarse and can cause mechanical injury.
Symptoms
Sores and infections in mouth, throat, eyes and intestines, weight loss.
Danger
Mechanical damage can usually be reversed.
